In 2025, Bonfire Night is on Wednesday November 5 although most events will be taking place on weekends either side of this date.   Please be aware that fireworks events in Surrey explode into action from late-October until mid-November.   

What is Bonfire Night?

Bonfire Night traditionally marks the anniversary and celebration of a British tradition dating back to the Gunpower Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. Bonfire night sees torch-lit processions, bonfires, fireworks displays, funfairs and much more across the county. Each town and village commemorating the occasion with their own unique celebration.
